My friend Malin asked if we could do a colour week & I’m always game for things like that so of course I said yes. I’ll let the colours be a surprise, hopefully this will help to get my creative juices flowing =)

What to do with a bucket of apples
One thing I loved when we bought this house was the apple tree in the front garden, so what does one do when they have an abundance of apples, well you bake apple cake =)
So here’s a bucket of apples, these are just the ones that fell off the tree today, I think I have about 50 or so in a basket in the garage.
After peeling & slicing about 28 apples, layering them with breadcrumbs & sugar, you get this….
4 normal apple cakes & 8 mini ones, 4 of the mini ones have cinnamon on them for my Sweetie. I hate cinnamon, so he’ll have those all for himself, Aren’t I a good housewife =P
What I do when I’m not working.
This is how I’ve been spending my time when I’m not working for the last few weeks, reading good books & playing Guitar Hero. We bought Guitar Hero to celebrate that I got a job & it’s also our early x-mas present to each other =D. It’s so much fun, but not good for my carpal tunnel if I play too long.
The books are on my list of new faves, evil faeries & unknowing mortals, love & danger, what’s not to like =). I’m halfway through the second book & can’t wait to start on the last one, if you the Twilight Saga (Yep I’m hooked on those too) then I can recommend these.

Cookies & Sewing
Finally did some sewing today, fixed some trousers for a friend & got paid with yummy peanut butter cookies, I think I got the better end of the deal =D.
My poor sewing machine must be wondering what it did wrong to be abandonded for so long, I think it’s closer to 2 months since I used it last.

Finding A Balance
I’ve been updating my homepage with some photos from the show in June & I made a new collage for my frontpage. Busy editing photos for my etsy shop, so I’m planning on adding some new items this week, hopefully more next week.
I also need to sew some new clothes, but I haven’t found my balance yet with the new job, my business, being a housewife & having a social life. I’m sure buying Guitar Hero this past weekend won’t help matters, but it’s so fun to play when hanging out with friends & family =D

End Of Summer
Autumn is coming, this past week has been cooler, but still lovely & sunny.
Things are going well at my new job, I’ve been working alot & haven’t had time for anything else. I haven’t touched my camera in the last month or my sewing machines for the past 2 weeks.
I had my first sale on Etsy about 2 weeks ago, Yay!!!. I sold my short white chiffon Emma Dress, I’ll be adding more items to the shop over the coming weeks.

New Job
I’m really happy at the moment, I got the job I’d applied for & I’m looking forward to getting started.
It doesn’t conflict with my own business so I can continue with making lovely things.
But it’s nice to know that I will have a steady income & it feels like this job will give me new energy & inspiration for my clothes. =D

In My Etsy Shop
These are the items in my Etsy shop so far, I have more to add but you know how it is being a one person show, everything takes time.
Here we have the Chiffon Shay Dress named after Shay , who designed the wonderful crochet collar pattern. Thanks again Shay.
Then we have the Linen Snowflake Dress, a medieval inspired dress with snowflake embroidery, perfect for a winter wedding, don’t you think!
The Aurora Corset & Skirt, simple but cute pink corset & fluffy matching skirt, I felt like a princess when I wore the dress for the photos.
The Emma Dress, a Regency, Empire inspired dress, a modern version for any Jane Austen enthusiast, adjustable to fit many sizes. This is one of my favourite dresses that I’ve designed.
And last for this time, is the Chiffon Avalon Dress, same design as the Snowflake Dress, but with open sleeves, a waist corset & sleeveless underdress. Also perfect for a wedding.
